Cholecystitis is the term used to describe inflammation and swelling of the gall bladder. The most common reason for the occurrence of cholecystitis is obstruction of the duct of the gallbladder, the cystic duct. This obstruction causes bile to concentrate in the gall bladder and thus increasing the pressure there. This causes pain in the upper right abdominal area sometimes. - Try to avoid any type of refined carbohydrate as much as possible. Also, try to cut off the non vegetarian diet completely and switch to vegetarian diet.

The function of gall bladder is to store and release bile. Bile is a digestive enzyme which is responsible for the increasing the absorption of fat. In case of cholecystitis, there is inadequate release of bile in the digestive tract. So, any fat containing foods will be difficult for the body to digest. The treatment for mild cholecystitis is following proper diet, consumption of more fluids, providing rest to bowel, and administration of intravenous antibiotics, if complicated by antibiotics.
